The City of Williams Lake is one of 160 Active Communities in BC.
An Active Community is one that promotes and supports, through a coordinated strategy, a way of life in which physical activity is valued and integrated into daily life.
One major factor contributing to health is physical activity. By putting your body in motion for 30 to 60 minutes a day, you can reap health benefits, have fun and meet new people. Research shows individuals benefit from regular, moderate physical activity, as little as 10 minutes, three times a day. Take Ten minutes out of your day to get active!
Benefits of Daily Physical Activity: Lowers risk of colon cancer and breast cancer. - Decreases risk of heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, stroke, high blood pressure and osteoporosis.
