Recreation Services
Williams Lake, BC

Recreation Services is a division of the Community Services Department. Recreation Services operates the Cariboo Memorial Complex, delivers recreation programs and is an advocate for all sports and recreation organizations in the community. A variety of unique special events are organized annually to keep residents fit and healthy.

The facility is owned by the Cariboo Regional District and operated by The City of Williams Lake. Area residents who pay recreation taxes to one of these governments receive admission to the facilities at a discounted rate.

The City of Williams Lake is one of 160 Active Communities in BC.

An Active Community is one that promotes and supports, through a coordinated strategy, a way of life in which physical activity is valued and integrated into daily life.

One major factor contributing to health is physical activity. By putting your body in motion for 30 to 60 minutes a day, you can reap health benefits, have fun and meet new people. Research shows individuals benefit from regular, moderate physical activity, as little as 10 minutes, three times a day.
